I hope you don't mean me Sian. I was trying to say that perhaps we could make it a regularish thing, that is all. I certainly wasn't being critical.
Amanda, you have done a fab job organising this and it's just one of those things that something else is one the same day. I quite often find I supposed to be in three places at once - still haven't found a way of doing that!

Hear hear the dogs do come first and i too would have liked to have gone to the meal.yes i had said i didn't know if we could get a permit and if it would go ahead or not but i had posted about the meet n greet on the saturday.I just think it should of been posted saying the only date available was the 13th and provisionally booked and is this date ok or to have checked the events calender first and as for ideas for dates i did suggest having it in january instead. Don't know who the nastiness is implied at but i can't see anything nasty anywhere.

Siani I don't think anyone was nasty to your Mum , or certainly didn't mean to come across as such.Maybe situations like this are better spoken about face to face, the written word can come across a bit abrupt, as people can't read body language and facial expressions.I think a few of us were a bit concerned that when everyone goes to the meal we would be left with very few dogs and people for the last two hours or so.Obviously being Christmas we are hoping people will be feeling generous and dig deep for the Hounds, and they are what will draw the people or should that be suck the people in. Will post on the M and G thread tomorrow to see if people that aren't going to the meal could stagger the M and G times so that 1pm til 3pm are covered.Lets not have bad feeling over this after all we are all part of the Wl Community and our first priority should be the dogs ,and if we have a laugh and make friends along the way all the better.

No-one on here has been nasty, just expressing opinions. I'm sure Amanda understands what I meant and that it was nothing personal Just read what Linda has put and I couldn't have put it better!!

WL Christmas Lunch!!!
I have given provisional numbers of 16, however the lady at the Alpine is allocating us the entire top right corner past the bar (for anyone who knows the layout) so there will be room for others to join us, should the Meet & Greet be unexpectedly cancelled.
We are SO lucky to have this amazing dog-friendly venue on our doorstep and let's hope that this lunch is the first of many.

Hi, I've just moved to the area (Gilmorton) and would love to go to the Christmas Dinner. I would also like to know if there is anyone who would be interested in dog walks during the week. I am an 'older lady' (both me and the dog!) so we don't walk very fast but would love to meet anyone for a natter and maybe a cuppa?

Hello Beryl!!
Welcome to the wonderful world of White Lodge!! Of course you are more than welcome to join our little band for the lunch. Can you confirm numbers please? Just yourself? And your dog??
I am not sure who lives over towards Gilmorton. I suggest you start a thread in the General section headed something like "Walking around Gilmorton" so people can see the location immediately. For the monthly WL walks, have a look in Events. You'll also find details of the Meets and Greets and the doyen of those is Tracey who signs in as Leicslass.
Don't worry about you or the dog walking very fast. Xander and I are both in the slower category of walkers and have been know to take the short cut!!! We leave the power walking to the fit young things and amble along at the back, chatting away as we go!!
I hope this has helped a little and we'll look forward to meeting you and your dog soon.
Amanda and all at Quinn Towers: Sian, Quinn, Xander and Drifter

Hi Beryl, the lunch is on Saturday 13th December at 1.30pm at the Alpine Restaurant within the Grange Garden Centre which is off the A6006 between Asfordby and Melton Mowbray. It is signposted from the roundabout with those brown tourist signs. There is plenty of parking, it's ultra dog-friendly and there's a nice gift shop for your last-minute shopping. I hope we meet you before then but if not we'll see you there. The link for the Alpine: www.grange-gardencentre.co.uk/cms_pages/restaurant.htmAmanda

Hi Suzanne, I have not quite got to grips with this post board yet and don't know what 'pm'd' means (I am Beryl's daughter Maxine) so we are bouncing around all over the place! Mum would love to be in contact with you but I don't know how secure the site is and don't want to post her telephone number. My e-mail address is info@kidsense.co.uk We are planning to go to the Christmas Lunch (I am quite keen to check out the Ski stuff!) so will meet more people then. I was over at Monks Kirby yesterday and we did have a drive round trying to find WL but hadn't got details with me to find it! I believe there is a Christmas Fayre this weekend at Dunchurch? Anyway, hope to make contact with you soon, Maxine for Beryl and Triss (the mutt).

White Lodge Christmas Lunch!!! I will be confirming numbers with the Alpine on Thursday but we have been allocated the upper right corner so we can always squeeze in extras. The more, the merrier!!! If you have never visited the Grange Garden Centre, the link is; www.grange-gardencentre.co.ukThat has directions and details of the Alpine Restaurant. The restaurant is very informal and incredibly family and dog friendly and the garden centre has sections for outdoor (especially winter) activities, a super little gift shop, the usual plant section and a garden equipment area at the back which is where we found the good value dog beds. You could certainly spend a long time browsing and cross a lot off your Christmas list!!! There are, of course, Christmas trees too!! Oh .... and a farm shop.... (if you're partial to cheese and onion crisps....try the yellow packet ones.....) Revellers are: Jo & Demetri & ? dog Alison & 1 dog Amanda & Sian & 2/3 dogs Claire & James & 2 dogs Karen & Significant Other (I am sorry...I don't know your name!!) & 1 dog Claire & Alistair & 2 dogs Beryl & 1 dog Kate & Abi & 1 dog. If anyone else would like to join us, please let me know asap. There will be a prize for the most festively attired dog.... I look forward to seeing friends old and new at 1.30pm on Saturday, For those of you who live to the west, Tracey will be womanning the Meet & Greet at Natural World, Syston all day and I am sure that some warm support and warm mince pies would be appreciated as you go past. Amanda
