Oh dear Linda, doesn't sound very good for you - donlt suppose the manky weather helped today really - glad you came though Shame Dave couldn't make it for the walk - 'busy' was he? !!! You should make him wear a Chauffer's hat next time he picks you up !!! Really enjoyed today as always, what a lovely bunch of dogs the rescues are - with a little RGT publicity i reckon they'll be homed really soon. Thanks again Gill, Alison and Terry for letting us invade and use of the paddock!!! Diz has been crashed out since we got back - and i think i may finally have sobered up!!! See you all soon again i hope jen

Ooh, terrible weather - truly foul. Bren, you'd have needed a wetsuit, not waterproof gear! Yep, the weather this morning was yer granny's pants The rescue dogs loved the walk and paddock fun all the same though and the rain didn't bother them one bit. They get long daily walks from Gill and her family but so enjoy socialising with different dogs and other humans. I don't even need to ask Gill and Terry about this because I know it will be fine. As the White Lodge monthly walk takes place on the 2nd Sunday of every month, how about we do a Rescue Walk combined with paddock use on the 1st and 3rd Sundays? As per my post at the beginning of this thread, anyone can join in for any part of it. No pressure either - I'll still turn up and do what I do anyway so even if it's just me, the rescues won't miss out in any way (apart from varied human and doggie company). 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month are now, officially, Rescue Walk/Paddock Fun dates. Come on down! ;D 09:45h coffee in kennel kitchen 10:00h set off across the fields 11:00 - 11:30h return to White Lodge Paddock play afterwards for as long as we like.

Alison, just to confirm, is the rescue walk and paddock opportunity on for this Sunday??
If so, is anyone else coming? I wondered if anyone would be willing to let their dog run with Rudy in the paddock? He can be a little lead aggresssive with other dogs, (nervous aggression we think) but never been a problem with Caleb (even from day 1) Has been okay with other dogs if he is off lead but I would like to try him with other pointies - of course I will muzzle him just in case.

Alison, just to confirm, is the rescue walk and paddock opportunity on for this Sunday?? I've just had a look at the calendar and this coming Sunday is the 5th one in the month - I hadn't thought of that! Come on down Bren (and anyone else who fancies it) for either/and/or paddock games and taking the rescues for a walk.

Doh, yes, sorry Alison, hadn't realised it was the 5th Sunday either!! Probably being thick, (sorry) but are you saying that this Sunday would be okay anyway? Katymay, thanks so much for 'volunteering' Skye. We don't let Rudy off lead, mainly because his recall is pants, but I feel so guilty that he rarely gets a decent run with other dogs.

Brenda, Sadly I am working next 2 weekends but next time i go to WL and you can make it, I would be more than happy for Rudy to run with Diz - he would probably respond well as she is such a gentle girl that she wouldn't pose any threat whatsoever to him - i warn you though - she's fast !!! Jen

Bren, next time I'm around with Morty you can use him as a stooge dog on lead or off lead. He really is a sweet heart and doesn't react at all to dogs being aggressive to him. he can be a bit ott off lead when running around, but I muzzle him fo rthis type of activity (he hasn't a mean bone in his body, but he gets very excited when running and chasing and its best for all concerned if he has his muzzle on for free running! ) Am loving the idea Alison. Will get up when I can ;D

Can't make this Sunday ,but have fun all.Brenda, Suggs would probably be ok to run with Rudy.Like Morty he doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body and would run off rather than get into a scrap bless him. Moll on the other hand gets veeeery excited and starts to get very dominant and bossy so wouldn't be a good mix.Its funny but eventually all the dogs seem to find another one or more they really gel with and some they don't ;D so I'm sure you'll find the perfect running mate for Rudy.
