Here's a selection of my photos, and yes, there is one of Alison and Sol doing their lap of honour after winning1st place in the best six legs class. Tracie with Jess Sol (and his rather fetching blue beads and matching nail varnish!) Chris, Tracie, Max & Jess Alison & Sol waiting for their turn in the ring After a long wait, they finally get their chance to strut their stuff Bess, Skye, Ozzy & Sol chilling out in the sun Alison & Sol, Chris, Tracie relaxing in the sun And the best photo of the day - Alison doing her lap of honour, closey followed by the bloke who won 2nd place, dragging his fat lab! Sol will doing anything for a sausage, and a well earned one at that! Alison & Sol after winning 1st place in the 6 best legs, well done!

Brilliant photos Claire wish we'd stayed I think if we'd just given Suggs his drink in the car(He wouldn't drink in front of you all)and let him cool down he would have been fine.Still you live and learn.I've also learnt that he is much more confident in the company of other Hounds,we took him out today and he was really jumpy and spooky again. It certainly builds his confidence and mine to meet up with the WL possee.

Don't think there are any unflattering ones of Alison! Shame! Ha ha. Claire Hmmm. The definition of unflattering is obviously very subjective Bird's nest hair, bandy legs, inane (insane?) grin, double chin(s) - looks like you captured them all perfectly to me! Edited to cut me out of the picture though, I loved this one Sol and I are going to be rich and famous one day, so maybe you should copyright your photos and sell them to the newspapers when that time comes! (or blackmail me so you don't.......... ) Here are another couple from Sunday of Ozzy and Bess in the agility Did anyone get any photos of Sol in the agility? If so, could you PM them to me? Not trusting you lot to post any here until I've checked them out first! ;D .

Love all the photos, really capture an excellent day (except for the poor pointer). Lovely lunch, too Alison, thanks so much for that. I have photos, I think, but wall to wall work just now so not even had a chance to download them from camera yet. But .... I will not be emailing any to Alison first ( ) for vetting purposes, especially since I think (and hope) I got some of her and Sol in the agility ;D ;D

All the photos are so brilliant I can't choose a favourite. White Lodgers and their dogs have a great sense of humour and really know how to have fun ;D You put the fat labs and their owners to shame. I guess that's why there were bitchy remarks? Jealous because you didn't take it seriously yet still managed to sweep the board all the same and jealous of your beautiful slim dogs Kate and Skye in Best Sporting Dog - I can't beleive neither Max or Skye got placed in that one. I can't either I'm a secret Jasper fan so hoping for some photos of him at the Wymeswold Show....... .

....But OMG wasn't it serious!! You're not kidding! It was only a humble little village show for goodness sake, not Crufts, and we all took our dogs for the right reasons in my opinion - so that they could have a fun afternoon out with their pals. But of course we love ours and their happiness and welfare is our only concern, not winning prizes. Did you see the Sheltie people with their grooming table? I've never seen so much backcombing going on since my mum had a beehive hairdo in the '60s! ;D some of those doggy people were awful they took it so seriously. I heard several 'bitchy' comments, not about us just in general and one extremely chauvanistic remark which was meant to be funny. Never mind prettiest bitch they should have had nastiest, the two legged variety would have won hands down. I have to say that the other contestants (bar one) in "The Best 6 Legs" class were real sports. It was immediately obvious that Sol was going to win and they were making jokes like: "you're in the wrong ring luv - your class is next door. Psst, get lost and give us a chance!". They were all applauding loudly when he did his prance and came to congratulate us afterwards when he'd won. Naming no names (only because I don't know it) but the dollybird in the red sweater with the fat yellow lab to the left in this picture obviously thought that having long slim legs, wearing short shorts and plastering herself in fake tan would be enough to walk it. She made some very loud remarks to the effect that I'd cheated! Me and Sol wearing hair scrunchies on our legs, 4 for a quid from Poundstretcher? It's not like we even made any real effort let alone spent much money so I can't quite figure that one out. Here's another random snap I found that I thought Katy, Claire and Alistair might like. The bitchy comment which annoyed me the most was made by a woman who, despite having at least 2 acres of field to roam in, decided to bring her Collie within 4 inches of my chair where Sol was lying at my side. I'd clocked her coming our way well in advance and as Sol was having one of his naughty days, caught hold of his lead about 4-6 inches away from his collar and held it very firmly. I don't know who snapped at who first but I do know that Sol was on the shortest lead possible (and still lying down) whilst her dog was roaming free. She remarked that: "this is supposed to be a fun day...blah blah.. you should have that dog under control". My response was: "yes, it is indeed a fun day - or would be were it not for a thick chav like you doing your best to spoil it for everyone". Didn't see her again. Funny that.

the dollybird......made some very loud remarks to the effect that I'd cheated! I think it's called sour grapes You and Sol would have won with or without the ankle flowers anyway I don't know who snapped at who first but I do know that Sol was on the shortest lead possible (and still lying down) whilst her dog was roaming free. This just makes me seethe. So many times I've been walking my spaniel on her lead and she's quite timid so can be defensive/aggressive when she's scared. People let their dogs come bounding up to her and shout "don't worry he's fine with other dogs". Yes, but how do you know mine is? (you tossers) My response was: "yes, it is indeed a fun day - or would be were it not for a thick chav like you doing your best to spoil it for everyone". Didn't see her again. Funny that. Wouldn't like to get on your wrong side!

What about the woman with the German sheperdy dog in the baseball cap(The dog was in the fancy dress .Apparantly the dog is scared of blondes she had the dog all zipped up in a tent,I wandered past and she shreiked' you're a blonde, move away' apparantly the dog is scared of blondes, isn't every one.Scared, the way he was barking He wanted to rip my bottle blonde head off.Actually when I got talking to her she was quite a nice lady, very ditzy tho.Next time we go out with Suggs I'm going to shriek 'get out of the way you're a man, gatepost, umbrella, yappy dog, fat lab,can of coke or evil witch with your car door open!'

I wonder whether it's just "dog show" people who are silly and bad tempered? Whilst it's fair to say that those types were in the minority on Sunday at Ab Kettleby, I went to an agility do with Dog Rescue Lover and Mortimer the other week and without exception everyone there was lovely (and it was quite a big event). They were competitive when they were in the ring and there was lots of jokey rivalry but the whole thing was about their dogs enjoying themselves. Without exception, everyone I met was really welcoming and friendly. (I'd not met any of the people in this photo before - this was taken after we'd all taken the dogs on an off-lead walk together). I started this thread because of the Pet Service catching my eye in my parish magazine. I suspected then that the vicar must have quite a sense of humour, but look what I found in the church porch this morning! Don't tell everyone, but the doors of the churches in this parish are open all day and dogs are welcome, hence the reason for the photo; Sol and I pop in to our "local" for a moment of quiet contemplation every morning before the madness of the day begins. His Aunty Joyce (The Demon Knitter of Knaresborough) put forward the awful suggestion that the reason Sol enjoys going to church is because he can smell the bones in the graveyard .
