I have been tempted to paint Skye's nails on a couple of occasions, but stopped myself, as his gender is already in question... most people think hes a girl because of his name!! Any ideas on a more masculine version??? You should try being Tiny - everyone thinks he is a girl! ;D

Does any1 have a list of classes for either the Ab Kettleby or Wymeswold show? I've got a list of classes for the Ab Kettleby one - I faxed it to Legion today and she's going to try and scan it in and post it here. Can't help with the Wymeswold one I'm afraid but Jasper's dad might be able to. If your fax number is the same one you PMd me a while ago, I'll send the Ab Kettleby one to you tomorrow if you like. Can anyone help? Sorry to be thick but apart from the fun aspect, I've never been what you might call a "keen" dog show person so can anyone tell me whether Greyhounds would be classed as "sporting" or "non sporting" dogs? I've got an idea that sporting dogs are gundogs but I'm just guessing. There are classes for both at the Ab Kettleby show. Obviously as a mutt - sorry - rare crossbreed of aristocratic origin (rather than a pedigree), Sol won't be eligible for either but I was just interested. It's astonishing how many times I get asked if he's a purebred lurcher ;D most people think hes a girl because of his name!! Any ideas on a more masculine version??? You could try double-barrelling his name to Syke Terror-Fang to macho it up a bit maybe? I can just picture mothers grabbing their infants and backing into shop doorways as you approached if he was called that! ;D

You should try being Tiny - everyone thinks he is a girl! ;D It's because he's got such a pretty face Nothing sissy about my mate Tiny LOL.... i think i have a stick on moustache somewhere... surely facial hair oozies masculinity. Be very sure that it's the right kind of moustache or he could be running the risk of a "Village People" look ;D

You could just drop the S, but why change it its a wikid name.Got to admit I keep looking at Suggs nails too I'm sorely tempted but Sols the original, Skye and Suggs would be the' young pretenders'I can't make either but will be interested to catch up with all the news on the Forum.Suggs not ready for any classes yet, unless they had one for 'Clumsiest Dog' or Dog most able to make mum feel guilty (for just about anything) with a look! If they had a class for most gentle, soft dog I'd enter him in that,Good luck to everyone who enters have fun can't wait to see the photos

Fax number is the same, that would be great if you can send. As to the greyhound classes.... you CAN enter them onto the sporting classes, they're officially on the KC class list. Skye Terror Fang... we're liking it, might have to get a studed collar, and die his tail purple.. to get that gothic/ hells angel look (already got tatoos) Hopefully see all at the weekend on Sols patch.

So what's the difference between Class 1 (Ring 1) Any Variety Sporting Dog or Bitch and Class 7 Any Variety Sporting Dog. Greyhounds are definitely sporting dogs. I'm trying to ring the person to get clarification. I think we might stick to Dog in Best Condition (Max not Tiny for obivious reasons - I don't think bald knees will go down well the the judges); Handsomest Dog and Best Family. I'd like to go in Sporting Dog, but I'm not sure what they're on about!! I think Wymeswold has more or less the same type of classes as well as stuff like Fastet Recall (we'd have a chance if it was slowest recall for Tiny, he stands around and looks at you and thinks about it for a about half an hour first). Alison did you get my pm?

We'll be at Ab Kettleby......as Sols entourage me thinks....
I think all White Lodgers should enter the "Best Family" class and totally overwhelm the rest of the competion! Who can resist a leaning needle nose, let alone a pack of them!!! LOL

I've just spoken to a lovely lady who didn't think I was stupid at all!! Sporting dogs are hounds, terriers and gundogs so retired greyhounds are fine. The difference between Class 1 Any Variety Sporting dog or bitch and Class 7 or 8 Any Variety Sporting is that CLASS 1 is more for pet dogs rather than show dogs so that's the one to go in guys!! Apparently the weather is going to be good and she is looking forward to seeing the deputation of greyhounds I've told her are coming!!

I've just spoken to a lovely lady who didn't think I was stupid at all!! ....she is looking forward to seeing the deputation of greyhounds I've told her are coming!! If it was Elaine Grummitt that you spoke to, she impressed me a great deal too. I telephoned to ask if she could pop a schedule in the post to me and first thing next morning she knocked on my door to hand deliver some plus a poster - how's that for service! I told her about the White Lodge rescues and she said we could have a fundraising stand free of charge and that next year she'd make sure that a class for rescue dogs was included. I wouldn't have a clue about setting up a stand or anything but am happy to help anyone that wants to. I did think about printing some leaflets with photos and a brief CV to hand out for the dogs currently looking for homes - let's face it, we're bound to get asked about our own lovely boys and girls so there'll be plenty of opportunities to let our dogs help the ones who haven't been quite so lucky yet.

Too right! We've just got back from Scotland and every day we were surrounded by crowds of people asking about the boys. We even had a bus load of American tourists stop their coach and pile out to see the boys! At Eileen Donan Castle, the gift shop lady abandoned the shop to say hello, as did a lady at the Black Isle Brewery, and at Cromaty they got given free icecreams - it's great being famous!! ;D
