Hi Alison I have only just seen this thread and sorry I missed you all too. We are from Peterborough, if you remember us, and have chatted on a couple of occasions in the Grange. How often do you go there, maybe bring my 3 next time Lin and hounds

Hi Lin,
Forgive me if Alison has replied in another way to you!!
The lunches at the Grange are really just informal get-togethers for us to chat and eat in a place that is about as dog-friendly as you could POSSIBLY imagine. And the dogs always seem to know that they should behave as there is never any fussing (we forgive Poppy....she's just a baby) and they settle down under the tables or in the corner pretty quickly.
It's very casual, Alpine-themed food with some old favourites mixed in and I haven't heard a bad word about it yet. They also do scrummy home-made (GENUINELY home-made) cakes so we often pop in just for coffee and cake because we know we can take the dogs and it's barely 5 minutes from WL.
The best thing to do it to keep your eye out in the Events section for the next one. I expect it will be in the summer or just after the schools reopen. It would be wonderful to see you and those three GAWJUS hounds there!!!
Meet and Greets are a little different, although there's usually home-made cake involved if I can get there!!! A Meet and Greet is organised by our little dynamo, Tracey, outside a pet shop or garden centre or similar large place, usually on a Saturday or Sunday and we have a RGT 'gazebo' and stakk selling doggy items and the dogs lounge about and look beautiful. The aim to to raise awareness of how amazing greys are to have as pets and to adopt and to raise a little funds into the bargain with tin rattling.
All we do is talk to people as they go by, let the kids pet the dogs (isn't it horrid how many parents teach their child to be fearful of dogs instead of teaching them the correct way to appraoch a strange dog?) and try and spread the word. They usually run from 10ish to 4ish and volunteers are warmly welcomed for an hour or two or the entire time. Essential kit includes a fold-up chair, comfy shoes and sunblock!!!
Again, something to look for in Events or PM Tracey (leiclass) and she will be delighted to give you all the info. Have a look back in Events for pictures from last year. We did a couple with the Quinn Towers crew and they were great fun. Maybe we will see you and the trio soon?
Hugs and woofs to you all,
Amanda
