OK, so we've just had a New Years walk, lets sort out the January one. Is everyone up for a walk up Beacon Hill? I thought if the weathers bad, at least most of it is pathways/gravel, so shouldn't be too bad.
Do we bring the start time forward to 1.00pm (I would struggle on a Sunday if it was too much earlier than that)? What does everyone think? Comments and suggestions welcome!
Maybe we could have a list pinned to the top of this thread with the dates and venues for the next few walks, so people know for definite when, where and what time we're meeting?

Based on past experience I think you'll struggle getting a good turn out at 1pm. It clashes with the sacred Sunday lunch whether you eat early or late.
We used to do an early walk back in the dark ages (11am) but the turn out got far better once it was changed to 2pm.
I don't want to sound in(un?!)flexible, this is just going on past feedback. At the end of the day it's the Walkers Walk - what do the regulars think??

Beacon Hill is our out and out favourite venue ;D
1pm is good for us as it means we travel back down the M1 in the light, but no big deal if the preference is 2pm.

1pm is sounding positive for peeps, and its only while its still getting dark fairly early. We will revert back to 2pm in the next couple of months ;D
What do people think about a list for the next few walks with dates and times pinned to the top of the events forum?

Sol's friend Flossie is competing in working trials this week and if she qualifies for the final (which will be on Sunday) we'll be there rather than on the walk this time. First one we'll ever have missed I think.

First one we'll ever have missed I think. Sorry you won't be there Alison, but you have got a good reason. It'll be great to watch Flossie competing ;D Sorry, forgot to add, can totally understand if you're not there Claire. Its probably still early after your op and you should be taking it easy rather than climbing huge hills! As well as cross posting, will you email the forum? ;D
