Given my current mumpification (ok I made that word up) but I do have mumps (or glandular fever I don't have the bloods back yet), it is possible that I won't be making any walks for a little while. We went to Rutland Water yesterday and I am a complete wreck today!

Can I make a suggestion, that wherever it is, we meet earlier, say 12 pm, as the nights are drawing in and it will be dark by 4 pm, possibly earlier if it's a cloudy / dull day. What does everyone think?

Hello peeps - flying visit cos getting my internet connection sorted is proving a veeeeeeeeeery sloooooooooow process. Before G & I left White Lodge a couple of people without internet access (I know, imagine ) asked where the next walk was. Being put on the spot I said Beacon Hill cos it had been a while since the last one there. As for changing the time, we used to do an 11am kick-off back in the dark ages and the turn out wasn't brilliant, hence changing it to an 'after lunch' walk. If more people want change, then lets do it face to face on the next walk, cos a few of the regulars don't get to read this.

Ah the joys of a decisive 'Claz Beacon' !! Delighted to see you back on-line. We took Jasper over the Beacon for his birthday and tried a couple of different paths - 1 OK and 1 not. They're opening up more land to walk through at the minute too. I've just done a review of posts and would like to keep the 2pm start - as C said, we can discuss later.

I think it is £1.50 or £2.00 car parking.
