I have seen a thread somewhere ( but i cant find it again) asking for photos to be sent in for those who want to be considered to represent white lodge at this great event, and a few people said it was months away, BUT we need to start now , It was no stroke of luck thay katy and skye won it last year, skye was stunning and katy handled the dog very well, it was clear to see that they were both very comfortable in the show ring this takes time and planning, suggsy did brilliant for us last year and if i remember rightly he got to the last 10, maybe even the last 6, so to get the dogs and handlers ready they need a few practises at the various shows throughout the summer, so may i suggest that those interested give their dogs a go and see how they get on,
i would post some pictures of midge, as i am sure she would get on the shortlist, lol (by the breed standerd she is not a greyhound, lol) BUT my darling daughter has decided to get married on this day,
good luck to katy and skye tomorrow at crufts

We're hoping to be there again had a lovely day.Suggs made the last ten Martin, but I couldn't have been more proud of him.As you say Skye showed brilliantly and Katy handles him so well.Unlike me who waddled round the ring hanging on to my trousers. ;D ;D ;D I think the on line show will have lots of classes e.g. prettiest bitch, best veteran etc with Best In Show going to GGG to represent us.Not sure how it will work as normally winners of each would go forward for B.I.S. to go to GGG.But that would rule all but Whitelodge RGT dogs out of entering the classes, so maybe there will be a class just for the RGT dogs homed by WL to go to the GGG. then the others can enter for the rest of the classes.Does that make sense?

That would be great Katy, Suggs and Flynn get nervous and Tia (your little show pony lol) ;D gets bored.Tia and Suggs are both having dentals within the next 4 weeks so hopefully that will help Tia, as she lost out to a bitch at the GGG on her teeth. Although I hasten to add that's not why they're having them. We'll probably just enter fun/ companion shows but it would be nice to know what I'm doing.Tia was showing her bum last year and wouldn't face the Judge and wanted to poo in the ring. ;D ;D

Sooo enjoyed the gathering at Grimston that we're thinking of going to this one, too.
Heads up to us newbies - is it good to go with hound to spectate? Advice on what to see? Who's going? Is it crazy busy or quite relaxed? Anywhere to exercise off the lead?
Thanks

It's hound heaven! Completely greyhound orientated but other breeds more than welcome, no off lead space (that I'm aware of) and it is always really busy but not in bad way, there is plenty of space for all. Lots of stalls selling anything dog and pointy dog related you can think of, take lots of moolah because if anything like me and other WLers you'll be spending lots you can enter Evie into classes on th day if you want to participate but I spectated last 2 years and still loved it (with 2 hounds in tow so no issues with that one either!) . All in all a fab day out if you love pointies ;D highly recommended!

Would advise taking packed lunch/picnic as refreshments are pricy. As far as I know you can use the race course to walk the dogs but not sure about letting them off.

Also if you're going to enter a class, last year they ran about three hours late by the end. If you want to get the entrants rosette, get there before lunch or they run out. You have to sign up to a class to get the rosette but you don't actually have to go in the class if you don't want.

The only other thing I would suggest is entering the classes prior to the day as, when you get there, you tend to be fast tracked through the queues of people waiting to enter on the day.
I just emailled someone last year and said which classes I wanted to enter (and who with lol!) and had confirmation we had been entered. I can't remember whether we had to pay before hand or on the day.

Advice please! Was thinking of entering Harry in class 14 hounds and terrier class but am bit doubtful that lurchers count as a recognised kennel club breed? Is it for posh pedigrees only?!
