I enjoyed the meal at the The Grange last year. I agree that it would be good to be dogless for a change. I had no intention of bringing Poppy again as she was such a pain!
Rachel is a vege, although the vege options at The Childers sound ok for her. I'l go with the flow, not really too fussy either way.....

Not been childers for a long time so can't say what it's like.my reason for suggesting it was because they do two for one on meals and i prefer a no dog meal.

we had a great meal at the grange last year and they have a lovely varied menu, they were also very good with the dogs and gave us a separate area, we used to go to the childers but we stopped as it was a dumping ground for unruly screaming kids that ran riot around the place whilst their parents/guardians ignored what was going on so anywhere except the childers for us depending on the date depends whether or not Saturday or Sunday would be better as it depends on what shifts we are working. we are a very varied group so it is difficult to cater for all tastes (no pun intended, lol) but we should cater for the vegetarians as i think at least a quarter of last years Xmas meal were veggies but we are happy to go with the flow over the day but on no account will i pay for a meal at the childers, i would rather go round the corner on the industrial estate for a bacon butty, lol or have a picnic in the paddock at white lodge, yes even at this time of year, lol ;D Karen & martin, oh and midge as she loved the party hats at the grange

Each to their own,and a poll is a fair way to decide. However I have to say that it would have been nice to take Tracy's wishes on board this year considering how much she does for White Lodge, re-organising events, turning up early to set them up, running up her phone bill ringing round various venues, plus the RGT, collar suppliers etc etc .Especially considering the fact that due to having no transport she's been unable to come on any of the walks and few of the shows.

I agree with Linda that Tracey's view ought to carry weight, especially with the transport issue. Personally I think my two are likely to wreak havoc at any gathering.
I also agree with Tegan re veggies, I personally hate mushrooms and nut roasts and usually find that's all some places offer. I once went to a pub where I ws offered just the vegetables for a meal as they have no veggie option - oh and the gravy of course which they swore was veggie!!!!

I agree completely with Linda too!
While the veggie situation is not a problem for me, specifically, I do remember how many 'veggies' there were at the last meal so it must be important.
For me, personally, I would rather have some well-behaved dogs than badly behaved children around me during a meal. Maybe we go the middle way and say "The Grange but no dogs"?
Or does anyone else have a place to suggest? Or is anyone willing to do a quick recce at the Childers one Saturday or Sunday lunchtime fairly soon?

As Tegan has already mentioned on the 'poll' thread, wherever we go for the meal we need to think about which Sunday (it's looking like Sunday is most popular!) is most convenient.
If we go in December I propose Sunday, 6th December, as 13th is the WL walk, and 20th is probably too close to christmas for people who have other family commitments. Otherwise how about Sunday, 29th November?
Thought I'd get the ball rolling, so we have a date in mind for when the poll closes.
Any ideas / suggestions?

Sunday 6th Dec is the Victorian Christmas Market where we will be having a stall and street collection, so any day but that, pleeeeese. ;D

Sorry Linda, I didn't realise / didn't think! Sunday, 29th November then? I'm assuming there's no chance of rearranging the WL December walk as a one off to Saturday, 12th December instead of the usual 2nd Sunday of the month?

We all have our preferences and if people want a dogs allowed meal thats fine. If a "with dogs" meal is decided upon by vote I'd be more than happy to provide transport for you, Jess and Lester
