Bradgate can be a great walk and an opportunity for 'meet & greet' with dogs of all shapes & sizes. The deer shouldn't be too much in evidence on the trails but it's definately a leash walk unless you have a most obedient canine (Rules out J&L ;D ). If we walk along the road to the ruins the deer should be in evidence on the left in the 'no people' area It's a pay & display car park (£2.50 I recollect) with the Cafe en route of course - ice cream too if you're that way inclined.......... Too early for tics in the bracken and if it's not summer it's usually not too crowded and thus a pleasant hike. Oh yes - We hope to be there but the old schedule is prone to change !!!!

We're hoping to make the walk as we've missed the last couple also gives us the chance to pop in to see the grandfolks for tea after ;D.
I've not been to Bradgate park in years, but used to like going for walks there with my mum to see the deer so really looking forward to it (fingers crossed for dry weather!).

me and loopy will probable be there on the walk ,sorry you cant take sam to bradgate park emmo but maybe if you really want to join us all you could walk one of the other dogs, there are always some spare ones to go round. if the sun comes out it will be a really great day out, im sure everyone will look forward to seeing you there. i will most likely walk tia part of the way and carry her the other half, poor little thing still has her leg in plaster and loves to play on it.

We took Harry,Woody and Jess last sat and sun (as we enjoyed it so much.)It was packed....esp Sunday. We turned off left thru the main gates and it was better but still busy.Loads of deer, some were hiding in the bracken right by the path, they made us jump as the camouflage was so good. Yes its £2.50 and doesnt give change. Cant make this w/e tho, have a boarder coming tonight and his owners are collecting him 2.30/3pm on sun. He's great with my 3 but can be funny with dogs he doesnt know or I would have brought him along and dropped him off at his house on way back.Have a lovely walk and will desp try to make the next one. We were hoping to get along to this one and just walk Max on the flat bit, but he has picked up an infection and looks very pink and hot so we are avoiding folks for a bit.
He's also struggling a bit with his leg as he is walking further - half a mile now - because when they fixed his leg they did it to best fit rather than straight like it had been because there wasn't enough bone to attach the plate to if they set it straight. So now he has an interesting twisted look but it does cause some problems for walking.
