Elvaston Castle: Good points; very well signposted!! Nice tea rooms. Paths were generally good on the surface and dryish with no major puddle issues and some areas of slippy mud. Lots of doggie bins, sensibly spaced out. Not so good points: Busy. For a dullish Sunday in January, it seemed very busy. Lots of other dogs running around off lead and people on bikes which got some of ours overexcited. None of our group seemed to know the layout or had been there previously and our little group lost sight of the main part and got a little lost. The many turns in the paths and the woodlands made it easy to lose sight of others. The very spread out car park might have made it tricky to see each other, so well done to the intrepid ones who climbed on the bank so we could all rendezvous. So, not many pictures I am afraid. The gathering of the clan. Eileen and Chewie catch up with Sarah, Ruby, Morty and Annie. Chewie looking very handsome. Xander also looking handsome (with apologies for Quinn's tushy!!!) Eileen's daughter, Kerry, who walked Drifter and seems to have fallen for his charms a little!!

We had a lovely walk and a great turn out of newer than usual people (or maybe it was just because we were nearer the front than normal, so met lots of people we don't usually talk to!!).
We kind of lost a few people on the way, so I hope everyone found their way back to their cars.
A few of us had a walk around the open area at the end and Morty and Caleb had a good run round together, playing and chasing. Poor Poppy wanted to join in the fun and was quite upset at not being allowed to ;D
Great day, great company and not too cold. First time at Elvaston and it certainly won't be my last. Thought it was a lovely place, easy to find and closer than I thought it would be!
Thanks everyone ;D

Great to see the pictures I love this place, the open area is where Suggs had his first off lead run, we had an extra Wl walk in Nov 07 and chose Elvaston.Sarah Jen text'd me today she'd just got home from her holiday and she'd love to meet up there as its local to her for a change.I know Tracy would like to go at some point so maybe any interested people, perhaps some who couldn't make today could squeeze an extra walk in and go to Elvaston again. The nights will be drawing out again soon too.Last time with being Nov.we met at 11a.m. it was a beautiful frosty day but sunny and turned quite warm. Glad you all enjoyed it.

Very good idea, Linda. I think that would be lovely and i think a morning walk with maybe a coffee break at the shop sounds just the ticket after this winter we're having!! Drifter certainly enjoyed his stroll around Elvaston Castle grounds!!!

Great I'll be in touch with Jen in the week she starts her new job tomorrow so when she knows her weekends off we can through a few dates and try and fix a date.I can't do Saturdays , kennels and Mum but a Sunday morning with coffee and cake sounds great and maybe mornings won't be too busy, it wasn't bad at all last time we went. BTW have the miniture hedges recovered since I tested Suggs agility skills on them, he had none and landed smack in the middle f every one whoops ;D ;D

Thanks for letting Morty have a run with Caleb, Sarah, I know he enjoyed it, he does need a good off lead run. Les said Poppy was a bit of a nightmare on the lead today.

Oh Michael, I'm sorry we missed you. We all parked in different places in the car park, but met up on the bank in quite a high/prominent position so we could see people arriving and be seen.We didn't set off until 2.10pm and headed towards the castle. Were you early/late?
