Northants Greyhound Rescue are holding their annual Greyhound Gala at Towcester Racecourse (link to Multimap) on 7th September starting at 10am. This is a big event with up to 1,000 people attending and of course loads and loads of greyhounds. More often than not Annette Crosby (One Foot in the Grave, Calendar Girls - where her own greyhound gets a cameo role, etc.) and Jaye Griffiths (The Bill, Doctors, etc.) are there. Annette Crosby Jaye Griffiths (2nd right) There's a dog show with classes for greyhounds and for those that aren't, trade stalls, raffles, tombola, auctions, ...... NGR is run by Mandy Hooker , who for those at the Salcey Forest walk was the lady with Bungle - the one that made Rosie look petite ;D Mandy & Bungle Towcester Racecourse is dead easy to get to - It's about 20 mins from J15A of the M1. From M1/J15 head towards Towcester on the A43. At the first roundabout (A5/A43 junction) take the first exit - A5 south to Towcester and and Milton Keynes. Keep going straight on through Towcester town centre. As you leave Towcester (still on the A5) the racecourse is on your left with the entrance about halfway up the hill. If you want to immerse yourself in greyhounds for a day there is nowhere better to do it. Guess it goes without saying that The Beastly Beasts will be there ;D

We went last year.. and met Tracey there.. had a fab day.. as i recall.. Jess took lots of rossettes home from the companion dog show(open to all breeds/mixes.) Some people that regonised Skye from his racing days were there.... one of their bitches regonised him.. and proceeded to jump all over him.... ) Great day out.. well organised and lots to see and do.... the ideal day out for a greyhound owner! We're defo going again this year!
