I should have asked if anyone required a lift to Salcey! Sorry Tracey - your 2 could have ridden with us. A very uneventful trip due to Chris' superb directions. I followed Alison home on the M1 - very easy - just follow the car with the flapping dog ears!
Great venue - thanks for encouraging us all to attend. And it was really nice to catch up with so many people and hounds!
all the best, Mary

Thanks to everyone that came down from up t'north. I hope everyone had a good time - we certainly did. As always great to see old and new faces including some non-WL ones!! They were: - Mandy Hooker - the lady with Bumble the (IMHO) beautiful Great Dane - who runs Northants Greyhound Rescue.
- Her friend, I think Sue, with her greys
- Carol and Will with Fisher the black lab. Rosie goes dog training with Fisher and Carol's husband and I have dived together for more years than either of us care to remember ;D
- Ann and Norman with Josie and Curly from NGHR - they always support our Meet and Greets in Northampton
I'll get the pics up later. If ever anyone is coming down to Salcey for a walk and wouldn't mind if we joined them do drop us a line; we go there nearly all the time as it's only 10 - 15 minutes from home.

Sorry we didn't make this walk - it was a bit far for us to come from Nottingham, but we'll be at the next one (definitely!). Looks like it was fun! Abi & Kate

another great set of photos, ;D ;D thanks alison, karen I've shrunk them so that people with laptops can view them more easily Karen but I can e-mail you the high resolution originals of the ones which include your family (I have a few more which aren't posted here) if you'd like them. These small versions are pooor quality and won't print out well. Your nephew is a complete sweetheart by the way and was so patient when posing for me with Midge Please thank him for me.

We too really enjoyed this walk, didn't know what to expect, but weren't disappointed given the longer journey than normal, but it only took us 45 minutes from Leicester! Considering the car park was busy, we didn't meet a huge amount of people on the walk. The weather was good too, nice to see everyone, and the homemade cakes were amazing from the cafe. Hope it makes the list next year. ;D ;D ;D Well worth a visit if you're out that way.

We too really enjoyed this walk, didn't know what to expect, but weren't disappointed Here's a cool dude "edgy boy" eye candy shot of James for you Claire I recall when taking it that Ozzy was yawning, although in the photo it might look as though he's panting. Obviously completely oblivious to James's good looks and underwhelmed by his classy sunglasses! ;D I agree that Salcey Forest is a great place. I enjoyed Ratby last month too. In fact, all round so far this year, I think all the monthly walks have been a success. They've seemed like the right venues for the time of year they were voted for. Does anyone think it might be worth visting the same places/same month in 2009?

i think that it is a good idea alison, unless anyone has a walk that they want to add that comes up to rarby or salcey, rutland water could do with moving earlier or later so that there would be less people or more annoyingly bikes about, yes i forgot to put www. on my email address but you knew that didnt you!!!!!!!! www.martin.drake@ntlworld.com
