Thought I'd post, as this walk is in less than a week!
I'm assuming we meet at the car park at the top of Burroughs Road, about 1 mile on from The Plough pub?
As The Plough is dog-friendly, does anyone fancy meeting up beforehand for food, or after the walk for a drink?

This is my favourite walk along with Elvaston Castle so far.Unfortunately we're not going to be able to make it.We need to get on with the garden. As we now have no grass down just mud this wet weather is making for a lot of mess. Hope you all have a lovely walk and the weather is kinder than it was for: 'Wild'...it was .......'Wet' it certainly was..... and 'Wonderful' it wasn't ;D ;D ;D

A607, then join A46, leave A46 at junction / roundabout with A50 (Glenfield), take 2nd exit possibly signposted Groby and Ratby, this road goes over the A46 to a small roundabout (this is Groby), turn left here onto Sacheverell Way, go straight on, and in about 1 mile you will go over the M1, into Ratby village.
You will see a primary school on your right, and a right turning immediately after the school, turn here onto Burroughs Road. Drive past the pub (The Plough) on your right, about 1 mile down a rough single track road, through a ford, and the car park for this walk is on the right towards the end of this road. It's free parking. ;D
Hopefully see you there.
Claire

As a first visit to Ratby B we have to say it is a classic 'well hidden' treasure. We will no doubt return and take time deciphering a wealth of paths & tracks. As always it was a pleasure to see you all and we look forward to a trip south to Salcey in August ;D ;D Jasper & Crew

I second that as it was our first visit too. Such a lovely walk and great company. Caleb and Rudy have been crashed out ever since!

Did anyone take any photos? We had a really nice walk too. I've been a few times before, but don't know a circular route, and always seem to end up getting lost. Weather was great, probably the best day we've had in ages. ;D Claire

Is that last photo of Lily 'Just Jackies' little dog? If so I wish we'd been there Molly would have loved to see 'Mum Jackie' and I love that walk.

Is that last photo of Lily 'Just Jackies' little dog? If so I wish we'd been there Molly would have loved to see 'Mum Jackie' and I love that walk. That is Jackie's "terrorist". Lily always used to bark at just about everything and everyone on the walks, but at Ratby she was very polite. We had a great time on the walk and thank you as always to everyone that was looked after by a Beast. And thank you too to everyone for being so understanding with Rosie and saying nice things about her. While there's still a way to go she has come a long way from when she first arrived (another event this week that I'm just about to post about showed just how far to me), but it's with the help and understanding of the White Lodge walkers that has had the chance to get used to other dogs. See you all at Salcey (I'll post with maps and directions in an mo)
