I had a chat with Tracy recently about doing one or two stalls at events in Leicestershire this year.
Not sure if anyone would be interested in helping with this (my thoughts would be to sell RGT merchandise, take some of the rescues to promote them for rehoming etc), but there is the County Show (Melton Airfield) on Sunday 4th and Monday 5th May (I have emailed the organisers to see if there are any stalls left and what the prices would be, as I think we may be a bit late for this one) and Bosworth Show on Sunday 6th July (4 x 9 meter stall would cost £48.60).
What are peoples thoughts on this? Should we look into it further and, if so, who is willing to help?
Sarah ;D

Ha! Adopt Dave? - it would have to be on a sale or return basis!!! ;D
I would be happy to help out at any events i can get to, i seem to be drowning in wedding fever in May (not me i hasten to add!) but will be up for any dates i can make - Dizzy too, the socialisation will be good for her!

OK. I've had the paperwork through from the Organisers of the County Show at Melton Airfield. he said when I get to the cost part of the application form to give him a ring as they can do us a deal. however, on the paperwork it says there is a 10% discount for registered charities - I hope the deal would be worth more than that, as the minimum cost for a pitch is £147. Plus you have to sign to say you've done a risk assessment and that everyone on the stall has been trained (that'll be Dave OK then! ;D) and are Health and Safety aware etc. We also have to have indemnity/public liability insurance in place We can set up the stall on the Saturday, but need to be off site by 8.00pm. We also have to be onsite and no movement of traffic by the pitch after 8.00am on the Sunday (4th May). Can't leave the stall before 5.00pm that day - same thing for the Monday (you can start to pack up after 3.45pm but still no movement of cars by the pitch until after 5.00pm). The minimum size of the pitch is 3 meters across and 8 meters deep and if you want a car/van on your pitch, this needs to fit in to the space allowed with the stall, gazebo etc. 2 passes will be provided with this and additional passes can be brought for £7.00 each. Only 1 car pass will be allowed. I'm happy to go ahead and find out what sort of 'deal' they can do for us, but thought I would check with everyone first to make sure you're all OK with this? Comments please

I can sort the risk assessment if you like, although the RGT might already have a generic one for this sort of event. The insurance cert can be sorted by the RGT... speak to Carrie @ RGT, alternatley, i have one already winging its way, so i could scan and send via email Sarah. My only comment is.., thats alot of money.... and also will that many people turn up with there hounds to support at £7 a pop???

I know and agree Katy. I may be able to talk him into letting us have more than the standard 2 passes, seeing as how new we are to all this and how wonderful it would be if they were supportive of local charities etc Lets see what they can offer us and then take it from there?

Sarah that seems expensive for a pitch, Dave says he normally pays on average £70 for a pitch 3metres by 3 metres at the shows he stands at.I've also had Health and Safety Training and can do Risk Assesments if Katy needs a hand.Had to do both to marry Dave ;D ;D ;D Seriously though I am trained for both.Won't be able to make 5th of May Dave standing at Exton but could probably do the 4th .

I've not had a chance to do anything else about this, so I think we should leave it this year. As others have said, its quite pricey and for those helping its a lot to pay just to get in the place
