If anyone is interested in a bit of fun with your Greyhound (or lurcher) and has always wanted to do agility with them, but found the equipment too small, then come along to the Harlequin Agility Club on Sunday 26th August, 2.30pm - 5.30pm for fun and games. It takes place at Tomlinsons Kennels at Markfield and I will be there with Mortimer (who usually participates - see photos!). I'll be helping out too, so if there are any Greyhounds/lurchers, I'll bag you lot to myself and we can have a great laugh. There will be lots of giant breeds there, such as St Bernards, Great Danes, Irish Wolfhounds, Leonbergers, Afghans etc. Should be nice weather too. Its about time more Greyhounds turned up (I'm counting on you Katymay and Skye to be there!) and hopefully Alison and Sol may come too. If you need directions, PM me.

Sol and I would love to come (if that doesn't put anyone else off!) He's met Sarah's large breed agility pals previously and behaved beautifully with them both on and off-lead. I think it's the boredom of standing around at dog shows and bitchy vibes (of the two-legged variety) that set him off.
The agility crowd are really quite different - all just there for the fun of it and extremely welcoming and friendly.

Think I'll come along with Ozzy if the weather is okay, as you all know how much he likes the tunnel tee hee hee ;D! Or should that be how he likes to make me look a fool.
See you all on Sunday.

Unfortunatly we're not here... off to Wales for Skyes first camping trip, and beach visit. Im so excited.... I would definatly recommend people turn if, if only to watch!! Sarah- not sure if you/ Gill got my message last week, (went to Tomlinsons for dog food) But Skyes got a "fat toe".... on antibiotics- Vet things hes got an infection, but cant see wound entry or problem with nail, so thats staying on at the moment. Skyes fine in himself and hasnt been lame for 2/3 weeks now, but keeps catching it and making it bleed. After our last visit to Agility, and his Madcap Minute, I didnt think it was a good idea to come till its sorted. Hope you all have fun, and take lots of pictures
A very excited pre camping Kate.

......as you all know how much he likes the tunnel tee hee hee ;D! Or should that be how he likes to make me look a fool. I'll be sure to bring my camera then Claire! ;D I don't know if anyone remembers this lady, Jodi, with her dog Bella. She was on her own at the Ab Kettleby show and really appreciated our friendliness. She asked me to take her photo and e-mail it to her. She e-mailed me back today asking if we were going to any agility and I asked her if she'd like to come to Markfield on Sunday. I pointed out that it's Giant Breed, but she says she'd like to join us just to come and watch and to socialise Bella, as she'd got along so well with our dogs at Ab Kettlebye. So, look out for them and give them our customary White Lodge welcome!

If its hot, we'll make sure there is plenty of shade and water etc. Even if you don't want your dogs to take part and just come to watch, we always have great fun.
The cost of the three hours fun is £15.00 per dog, which isn't bad considering our normal classes are £6.00 per hour. Obviously if you come just to watch and socialise, then its free. ;D
I've spoken with Jill and shes happy for me to have the greys/lurchers together and I'll try and get our own course set up so we can have some greyhound/lurchery fun. I can't wait! ;D

Thanks Sarah for a great, entertaining afternoon out. I can't believe Ozzy did the whole course of 14 obstacles, especially considering how wimpy he was when we arrived . For the benefit of those who weren't there, Ozzy wouldn't walk along the dog walk even when it was placed as a flat plank on the grass (he kept jumping across it from side to side). However, after lots of persuasion with sausages and encouragement from me and Sarah, he did it, and everything else. Ozzy even went up and down the A-frame touching the contact points at both ends, and through the tyre jump, which he had never done before . If Ozzy can be this brave, any dog has a chance! I am so proud of him. No pictures of Ozzy, but I do have some of Tracy and Alison. Alison and Sol prepare for the seesaw under Sarah's guidance On the Seesaw Tracy and Jess jumping Jess attempts the weave Tracy and Jess doing the long jump (or whatever it's called!) Jess and Ozzy relax with Tracy at the end of the day
