The next White Lodge Walk will take place at Salcey Forest on Sunday 12th September, heading off from the Forest Café at 2pm. Home turf of The Beastly Beasts, directions can be found on their blog – link below: thebeastlybeasts.co.uk/content.php?pg=m1tosalceyQuote from the Forestry Commission website: “For the purposes of SatNav, the postcode for Salcey is NN7 2HX”. The trail we usually take incorporates the Tree Top Walk but it only takes 10 minutes or so. For those who don’t fancy it, there is a bench at the bottom where you can wait for the folks/hounds with a head for heights! It’s actually quite tame and not at all vertiginous and the views are spectacular. Wheelchair/pushchair-friendly: www.enjoyengland.com/campaigns/value-campaign/2010/salcey-forest.aspxThe café is very good with plenty of outdoor seating and tables – a great place to meet and share out the hound treats at the end of the walk ;D The ice cream kiosk should also be open. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday!

Sadly we can't make this one either, We've never made this walk yet.Suggs and Tia are both carrying injuries.Tia caught and eventually killed a hare yesterday.Suggs and Flynn then spent the next 15 mins chasing her round a field trying to get it off her. When they finally gave up, having been deaf to our calls Tia decided to stand guard over it and growl and snarl at myself and Dave. She finally dropped it and we got her in the van.On getting home we noticed she was limping and had a swelling on the foot she had previously broken on a Hare chase.Suggs then began yelping every time he got up and seems to be having a problem with his back legs. They are both a bit better today and have had an on lead gentle walk but we don't want to risk aggrevating their injuries. Will see how they are tomorrow ,and whether a trip to the vet is called for.ASBO does it again. ;D Have a lovely time all will look forward to the photos.

That Tia! She sure keeps you on your toes. I hope there soreness is just a bit of over-exertion and they are fine and dont need the vets.
Billy and Dilly will have to wait to meet each other (hopefully not 2 years)

Billy and Dilly will have to wait to meet each other (hopefully not 2 years) It's such a shame Dilly is always surrounded by Giants, ;D I'd have loved to see her reaction to Billy. Would have been nice to see Sarah again and meet you both.

Sorry we missed the walk yesterday it sounded like the perfect place to walk and meet up with everyone. We decided to head over to Whitelodge and give all the pooches there a bit of a walk and some exercise (would have brought them all to Salcey Forest but don't think we would have all got into the car - note to self must win lottery and buy big doggie / people carrier) xx
