Hi Folks The next White Lodge Walk will take place this forthcoming Sunday, 14th March, at Beacon Hill. We’ll meet in the lower car park and set off from there at 2pm. Click on the links below for further details and directions: www.leics.gov.uk/index/environment/countryside/countryparks/beacon.htmen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beacon_Hill,_Leicestershire The full address for the lower car park: Breakback Lane Woodhouse Eaves Loughborough Leics LE12 8TA Whilst there is no café, Mr Whippy is generally in attendance from March – September and does a fantastic economy “hound cone” especially for WL dogs in return for pics for his website If the info in the first link is correct it appears that there are toilets but I’ve never managed to find them. Probably because I’ve been too busy looking for the ice cream van though in all fairness to Leicestershire County Council The charge for car parking is £1.50, payable at the ticket machine on entry. Having the correct change will save you no end of hassle. We usually walk the route shown in the following link, arriving at the summit (adjacent to the upper car park) at approx.14:40h and pausing for a 15 minute break to take in the view/give the dogs a drink etc. Often people who’re either unable or don’t want to do the full walk like to meet us at this point. Ideal for those with tiny babies, elderly relatives or wheelchair-using friends who’d like to join in for a shorter period. www.leics.gov.uk/beacon_hill_map-2.jpgEveryone welcome as always and it would be so good to see you, Alison x

Truly their own best publicity. A really attractive bunch and so brilliantly behaved. Absolutely lovely, every single one of them

If we are going on the walk, us and the girls would love to come and collect a pooch for the afternoon Alison, for the walk , if thats ok,it all depends on whether our Doris (campervan) passes her MOT on Friday afternoon as to whether we can come along at all, hopefully she wont need anything done, so fingers crossed ! Hi. I've not managed a walk since joining the chatboard, but hope to be able to get to this one. Will bring my two miscreants and will be accompanied by a friend with two mongrels (one of whom thinks he is a greyhound). Look forward to meeting the dogs and owners from the board. Will also be accompanied by my daughter so between the 3 of us there will be 4 dogs. May be room to walk any dogs looking for someone to accompany them. Look forward to meeting you all.

Loos are immediately to the left of the entrance where you drive in - down a little path so you can't really see them from the road.
