Hi
I was just looking at the place for the February walk and trying to work out how far from us it is when I saw this on a website...
"Barnsdale car park is closed 1 November to 1 March but all others are open throughout the year. "
Isn't this where we're meeting? Just thought I would mention incase plan needs to change as a result?

Thanks for the heads-up on that Martin & Clare, much appreciated! I’ll contact the warden tomorrow and if the Barnsdale car park isn’t going to be open on Sunday I’d suggest that we convene at the Whitwell one which is only a mile further along, off the same road (the A606). Postcode LE15 8BL. There’s a climbing rock thing, cycle hire centre and outdoor pursuits shop there so I’m sure that one will be open. I suspect that you might be able to camp there overnight too and will text you if this is the case. I’ll PM and e-mail everyone tomorrow with final details as usual and post in this thread too so watch this space folks!

Yes, as Martin and Clare rightly said, the Barnsdale car park is closed between November and March so we’ll be meeting in the WHITWELL car park on Sunday 14th February at 2pm. The car park is on your right hand side as you drive down Bull Brigg Lane. There’s a decent little café and toilets plus a climbing centre and cycle hire shop. The car park closes at 5.30pm and the cost for parking is £3.00 per day, tickets from a pay and display machine. Whitwell Leisure Park Bull Brigg Lane Whitwell Rutland LE15 8BL Large signs indicate that dogs must be kept on lead at all times with a penalty of £500 for failure to do so. Fingers crossed that the weather is decent this month! Any news? This one is close to home for me and Hope, so we are looking forward to joining you. Sarah It'd be lovely to see you and Hope again Sarah

This one is about an hour and a half drive away for us which usually wouldn't be a problem but Martin is working this weekend so we may not be able to make it We will come along if we can, but if we don't make it, hope you all enjoy and we'll hopefully see you at the March walk.

Would it make any difference if you could camp overnight in the Mystery Machine right next to the venue? Sol checked things out personally during his lunch hour today and also had the presence of mind to take photos and get contact details. That mutt is too clever by half! Please PM or text if you'd like further details.

Really enjoyed today's walk.We walked for about two miles and then went to the cafe, where the smell of chips was just toooo tempting for a lot of us. ;D The dogs were all on bunny alert as there were plenty around. It was lovely to see the regulars and lots of new faces. We were saying we've not seen Kerry, Conrad , boys, and Ellis and Jazz for a while and also Richard, Mary , Lord Jasper and Lulu and hope all is well with them.It was nice to meet Jen's bloke Ben and his Beagle Boris who is a cracking little dog.Our three are now crashed out.Apologies to the lovely Rosies Mum and Dad for Tia having a grumble at her. They met for the first time at a meet and greet last May where Tia spent the whole day growling every time their paths crossed. They haven't met up close and personal since and when they did Madam was rude to poor Rosie.I think she was jealous of Rosie,s lovely pink coat.

Looking forward to the March walk.
