Hi all. It's Adam here logged in on Mum's profile.
Just to say sorry I missed the walk today. Me and Rachel got about half way down the A46 when my car overheated and I had to pull over. By the time I had cooled it down enough and limped to the nearest petrol station to buy some water I would have been far too late!
Hope you all enjoyed the walk and have a lovely BBQ (at least you had the weather for it!) I'm gutted I couldn't be there as well. Will hopefully see you all next month!
Adam

Adam....we left people there chatting 19 to the dozen when we left at 5.45.
You might have missed the walk but the apres-walk party would have been in full swing!!!
See you at the next one and good luck with the skydive if it's before the.
Amanda and the QT crew.

(To the tune of "Didn't we have a lovely time, the day we went to Bangor".....) Didn't we have a lovely time, the day we went to Conrad's? (Sorry Kerry...'Conrad' scanned better!!!) What a fantastic walk and bbq today and three rousing cheers for our hosts, Kerry and Conrad and the boys. The location was almost perfect. Free car park. Regular dog bins. Almost completely flat, well made path with enough variation for interest. The short cut for the 'oldies' who were stuggling a little. That lovely setting by the lakes and canal... ...and back to K&C's lovely home in the most FABULOUS setting. <-- Me, green with envy!! We started as usual with the gathering of the clan.... It looks like Alison and Claire are comparing milliners..... This swan couple were keen to defend their 4 cygnets from the invading hordes of longdogs! Eileen, daughter and grand-daughter (Rosie, I think) and the Chewmeister enjoying the walk over the part where the canal meets the river. The same area looking forward towards the site of the old Mill and the lock. You can JUST see the same swan family and cygnets pestering the people on that boat for some food!! The view looking the other way into the basin. The pretty cottage on the right immediately above the red and white barge (not the single storey Elsan block but the cottage behind) is now called the Willows but was once the pub that served all the canal barges and their crews and passengers. The other side of the basin. Thank you to Tin's dad for historical information!! The two small downsides to the walk were that it was quite busy and there were one or two dogs out who really should get some urgent training.... and some owners clearly needed some training in the art of pooper-scooping. Other than that, a perfect appetite-builder to the bbq. One again, thank you so much Kerry and Conrad and family for opening your home to us. It was a wonderul day!!! See you on Sunday August 8th 2010!!!

Hi all. Sorry we didn't make it ,we were so looking forward to the walk and BBQ. Gilbert my horse who, like me has arthritis and is also succumbing to advancing years, got stuck lying down this morning. Despite all attempts to get him up we called the vet. He was given a large dose of painkillers and with much shouting and proping him up with hay bails and with much grunting and groaning he finally got to his feet. The diagnosis was he had been lying in the same position for too long. Any offers for horse turning appreciated ;D He's now on a course of anti inflamatories and hopefully will improve. Catchya on the next one x Ceri, Zak, and Vaughan & Gilbert ' The arthritis brothers '

Had a fab time.. have really missed everyone.. bin ages since we've been on a walk. Hadnt realised how chunky Skyes bum had gotton.. bad mummy. Even more walks n less food should do the trick. See you at Perry Barr Rgt show next Sun if anyones going... Its a fab event,, indoors.. so not too hot/ cold.. on sand... with loudspeaker... the ex-racers get a real spring in their step when they play 'the parade' music that they play at the track. Something for everyone. Dukies owners.. send me a pm so I know who you are.... so i can pass dog trainer info to you. I think he'll really benefit from it.. and you too.. as his confidence grows.

And big thank yous from us as well. We had a fantastic time and just sorry had to leave early. What a wonderful sight to see all the boys and girls (dogs not children lol) lying around in the garden and relaxing in the sunshine. That is all except Sol and Ellis (I think) who were on a mission to see how much food they could steal Eileen, Chewie, Tracey and Rosie xx

Ellis & Jazz liked having friends round and are asking if they can have a sleep over next time, but we have had to put our foot down- we wouldnt have room for that many dog baskets lol . We are more than happy to make it a kind of annual event if everybody wants! ;D

We all enjoyed the walk and the hospitality was great. Think Ben wants to trade Dukie in for Sol though!! Dukie doesn't know it, and he'd like to apologise to the dogs that he snarled at cos he's scared. We'll be addressing that!
