Twas great to meet everyone last Sunday on Zak's first outing, but it almost went very wrong. We arrived at the venue quite late due to dodgy instructions from Map Quest and not surprisingly the car park was bereft of hounds. What to do now was the burning question, do we just turn around and go straight back a 60 mile round trip, or do we have a walk on our own anyway. We chose the latter and young Zak set off nose to the ground, then Ceri had an idea. " Lets give him the reins and see if he can sniff out the trail". We came across intersections of the path round to the right he went, straight on, left, no, right again, and so we marched on through the undergrowth Zak pulling Ceri's arm out and me lagging further and further behind until finally I heard Zak puppy squealing in the distance. Success ! sure enough as I turned the corner there were all the White Lodgers, Ceri and Zak with his tail in overdrive. We continued the rest of the walk in the company of many hounds and a joyous sight it was. Although I must make a confession here; whist lagging back I was marking the trial with arrows formed from twigs. Yes yes I know 'Oh ye of little faith'
