(Will be bringing my big fierce greyhound as protection, on , no, wait, i've only got diz !) LOL ;D The ground may be slightly muddy in places, so probably best to wear a pair of good walking boots. On the whole, the ground is fine!

Sorry, but Chewie and I won't be able to make it now as I'm doing a transport run to Warwickshire this morning and homecheck somewhere in the depths of Derbyshire this afternoon. Have a lovely walk and see you all next month.

Can't wait to see all the photos. My lot are also fast asleep now (especially Morty who would like to thank the gorgeous Skye, Caleb and Poppy for his little run around) ;D Thoroughly enjoyed the walk and had a good old natter and catch up with friends. Bring on the next one!

If you go out in the woods today You're sure of a big surprise. If you go out in the woods today You'd better go in disguise. For every hound that ever there was Will gather there for certain, because Today's the day the greyhound dogs have their picnic. What a FABBO venue Burbage Common is!!! Thank you, Sarah, for suggesting it is included in the walks. Plus points: easy to find, large FREE car park!!! TWO tea shops...wow and double wow!!! Wide, easy paths and relatively flat terrain. Almost mud-free. Very VERY pretty woodland walks. Dog bins at intervals. Minus point: Just the one... it is clearly a VERY popular area locally and many dogs of all sizes were offlead. Overall our group behaved extremely well, but some of the other owners were not quite as responsible or diligent. (Please forgive me if I haven't named everyone or have got some names wrong. PLEASE let me know so I can correct it.) Everyone gathering, ready for the off, led by Sarah and crew on the extreme right. Rudy, with mum Brenda in tow, ready for the off. Quinn suspects that Jojo, Sophia and Dukie may be heading in the wrong direction..... White Lodgers in full perambulation!!! Lovely to see the gorgeous Ruby on the right with her mum. Chris and Gill and the Beastly Beasts stride on!!! Rumour has it that Chris was down to JUST 2 Beasts today!! Caleb looking very handsome. Initiative tests for humans and hounds.... get through the kissing gates!! Ruby, Morty, Annie (sorry that Siani cut your head off, Annie) with their mum Sarah and the other Ruby (was Dusty) in the background. Lovely Dizzy and her mum Jen. "NO BICYCLES" ? They'll be lucky!!!! The stunning Skye shows off his Crufts-winning pose while mum Katy checks on baby Poppy. Dukie takes Jo and Sophia for a walk. (Part 2 follows.....)

Part 2.... and on they go!!! Ruby shows her 'war wound'; nothing too worrying, just a nasty cyst removed by the vet. The gorgeous Hero. I am so sorry but I didn't get his mum's name but we really enjoyed meeting them today and I hope they will come to more walks. Dukie, Quinn and Hero having a good natter!! Tea Break!! You stop for a nice quiet break and that bloomin' Alison comes and points her camera at you.... ...so the only thing you can do is point your camera back!!! Clasp ..two..three...four Raise..two...three...four Drink...two..three..four... Sophia makes friends with Ruby while dad Demetre poses. Les and Brenda and their crew; Poppy, Caleb and Rudy. "But I wanna go THAT way...." A few shots of the lovely surroundings and woodland. (Not a very good pic of the lovely bluebells that were just coming out. Unfortunately, you can't see the beautiful delicate white wood anemones) Picnic time for greyhound dogs, The little greyhound dogs are having a lovely time today. Watch them, catch them unawares, And see them picnic on their holiday. See them gaily dance about. They love to play and shout. And never have any cares. At four o'clock their mommies and daddies Will take them home to bed Because they're tired little greyhound dogs. Oh Xander!!!

This has to be one of my favourite walks so far, what a great venue, credit to Sarah for suggesting it.We had a lovely time, it was great to catch up with everyone and their dogs.So nice to see Ruby and owners , she looks stunning, even more elegant than I remember. It was so nice to bring Tia on all four feet for a change, I'd love to be able to let her off lead there as it so spacious but she's probably end up in the next county. ;D ;D Suggs really enjoyed it, as Jen pointed out he wasn't pulling to get away and his tail was visible not tucked between his legs.Dave and the dogs crashed out as soon as we got home. ;D ;D Great pics Amanda, Dave took his camera and took all of two photos doh
