Hope Alistair is soon on the mend, how are you now? I'm okay thanks, just tired but definitely on the mend! Kate - hope you get on okay, I've just had my epilepsy review which is extremely tedious and involves really boring questions and heaps of blood tests!

We had a fantastic time, what a great place :)We could happily spend a day there, the company was brilliant too,we had a good laugh, especially when Dave and Suzanne were discussing my sellotape poo story on the thread Alison started and Suggs helpfully gave an action replay only with a long piece of grass which I had to extract from his bum on a busy path ;D As you can see from the photos the dogs had an off lead run I was undecided about Suggs but all the others were off lead and he so wanted to join them ,especially when he saw Lester running.I decided to trust my dog which an experienced dog owner friend of mine keeps telling me.I was bursting with pride when I saw him running with the others, he stuck to Lester like glue. His recall wasn't always immediate or if it was he would stand just out of reach at first, but never went too far.He is a bit cheeky and would hide behind bushes so he could make sure we weren't leaving him behind without coming immediately. At the end I had to fetch him from behind a bush but he made no attempt to run off.The others thought he did very well and I was very pleased with the way he behaved. It was lovely to see Lester so happy he's really changed a very chilled dog.As usual Dave wanted to dognap Dizzy and Vi but has now added Millie and Bess to his list.I thought all the dogs including little Morgan the Westie were brilliant and great ambassadors for Greyhound and Lurcher rescue. They played happily with any other dog that approached them were well mannered and obedient just like their owners ;D ;D (well until I got the cheese sarnies out) ;D

Thanks for a great walk, excellent company, and organising such good weather, too, Tracie! All hound and non-hound dogs so well behaved and so gorgeous Dave's gonna have to fight me for Bess and Millie ;D Though Suggs looked really laid back and calm most of the time. Sorry missed off lead fun, was having necessary tea and cake before heading back home

I really enjoyed it yesterday, i always forget how much i love Elvaston Castle, it's a lovely place, and my god, we couldn't have picked a better day weather-wise. Afraid Dizzy is very subdued at the mo, because of the fireworks, but she did have great time and so did i! I did get over-hysterical when Linda had to extract poor Suggs' grassy produce by hand but we all agreed that it showed true dedication as a dog owner! And he did sooo well off lead, an absolute trooper! Really nice to get to know Vi and her peeps better, plus the lovely Morgan also (did you manage to get rid of the paw print off her back soozandi?!) and of course to see Bess and Millie and the gorgeous Jess, with new bro Lester in tow, looking as if Trace has owned him forever! e should definitely go there again, it was a really lovely day!
