Due to the hideous amount of standing water round here, we've had to change the July Walk venue to Beacon Hill, Woodhouse Eaves.
Usual arrangements, 2pm in the lower car park. Hope you can make it.

I guess if Beacon Hill gets flooded there's an awful lot of Leicestershire underwater.
Hopefully The Beastly Beasts should be there.

Sounds sensible. Unfortunately for us, I'm not able, again, to make it tomorrow: Millie and Bess are most displeased with me, but there's not a lot I can do about it. Hope to make August, DV.

Well, considering the weather was glorious, there weren't too many white lodgers at the walk today. Those of us who made it to the top had a well deserved break before trekking back down to the car park and a natter. Unfortunately the human form of refreshments wasn't available today (something to do with Claire being unable to stop for the walk), but we all had a fab time. Photos were taken, so I'm sure someone will be along shortly to post them. Must go now because I think a house a couple of doors down has been hit by lightening. Will come back later!

I just started messaging and had to run off to look at the hail, thunder and lightening my front garden is flooding! Glad it held off for the walk, thanks to everyone and their lovely dogs for making me and Suggs so welcome (and Dave)Suggs really came out of his shell on the walk I could tell he was enjoying it.The only thing is as he is so enthusiastic and fairly big I may have to invest in a halter my wrists and back are aching. He got his much needed bath and early dinner he was ravenous. Then he stood up walked round the kitchen and proceeded to table surf.So the question is which fiendish person swapped my timid daren't get off his bed dog for a cheeky table surfer.I told him 'no' which he understood then i had to go in the other room to laugh just as I do with my grandson

Back again. What a storm that was. I'm sure something got hit because it was the loudest crack of lightening I've heard in a long time. Car alarms were going off afterwards. I'm glad it held off for the walk too.
Sorry loopylou. I guess Suggs had a sneaky conversation with Ruby as they were walking along. She must have passed on a couple of secrets! It was lovely to see him looking so relaxed and enjoying himself and it was great to meet you and Dave.
Can't wait to see the piccies.

thanks to everyone and their lovely dogs for making me and Suggs so welcome (and Dave)Suggs really came out of his shell on the walk I could tell he was enjoying it. It was a joy to see Suggs looking so confident and happy Nice to meet you both too. As soon as the storms stop and I get broadband for more than 2 seconds at a time, I'll post photos in the July Walk thread that isn't "Stop Press". Hope this is ok, and if it isn't will someone move them for me please?

We're sorry we couldn't make the walk. Had to take our son to Tamworth station as he is back in Cardiff for a few days - he is playing in a concert with the Welsh National Opera Orchestra, quite an honour!! Sorry, I divert. Hope you all had a good time, Beacon Hill is my favourite walk, hope to be at the August walk.
