We will have to bring some cake as well as the Monday is the terrible hounds 2nd birthday with us.
two horrible horrible years, of love, licks, hugs, kisses, sofa hogging, garden digging, and of course sleeping, but we still love you clare.

I love Beacon Hill, but obviously will go with the majority. A good opportunity to walk off all those easter eggs whreever we go. ;D

Beacon Hill is a good one with me too! It means all the wussy people who can't do hills can make this one because of the top car park (sorry Claz, but you get grouped in this - not because you're a wuss, but because of your gammy knee!)

I like Outwoods, at Woodhouse Eaves. It's really pretty when the bluebells are in flower (April / May) and the woodland floor is a carpet of blue. It is really close to Beacon Hill, and parking is free, so you can't really complain! Have a look at this link for further details: www.charnwood.gov.uk/leisure/outwoodsinformation.htmlWhat do you think? Claire

We won't be there because my two monsters will be holidaying at Da Loj from Sunday teatime, so I don't want to take them on a nice walk and then drop them off at Claire's. I think it would be too confusing for them.

We like Beacon Hill too (is there a consensus starting on this thread?), though the outwoods sounds good too.
And did someone mention CAKE!!!? We're there - where ever there is.

I'm another Beacon Hill fan. I've been to the Outwoods a couple of times and liked it very much, except that the paths seemed to be a minefield of dog poo which I found less than fun!

Just back from Outwoods with Jasper. 50 mins for the perimeter walk. Very pretty woodland walk with binocular opportunities for bird watchers. Mainly a leash walk and keep to the paths - some muddy puddles and some steeper bits. I do like it there but would suggest that on a sunday with bluebells, the car park will be heaving. (Will they be blooming in 2 weeks time? Lots of leaves today but no signs of a flower bud) I would be a good summer walk as there will be lots of shade but thoroughly recommend a look see if you get a chance during the bluebell season. After failing to make it to Burrough, or Watermead, I am loath to make a suggestion but Jasper suggests that we show up wherever!!!!
Look forward to seeing you all

Okay... I have been having a fink.
I fink if we go to Beacon this time, then we can check out the parking ot Outwoods before it and see if our 20 billion cars are likely to fit in there. If so, we can always do it in May?
Is that a good fink or a crap fink?

A good fink I reckon and Loz is right - she who promises to bring cake should decide! ;D The only downside to the Outwoods that I can think of is that it's one of my parents' favourite dog walking places - Darby & Joan Central! Mind you, they do tend to have sweet tasty comestibles about their persons most of the time so if we bump into them we could really be quids in on the cake front.....

We met Derby & Joan today and they were delightful. Capped and scarfed and in their element. Lots of jogging students too to trip up with longdog leashes!!. In this instance, the Claz definately has the overiding vote (How often are you 30 - again!!!.....and again...... oh stop!!!!!) and Beacon Hill is definately worth the car parking charge. Now can we keep the day free.......................................?
