The next White Lodge Walk will take place this forthcoming Sunday, 10th March, at Beacon Hill. We’ll meet in the lower car park and set off from there at 2pm. Click on the links below for further details and directions: www.leics.gov.uk/index/environment/countryside/countryparks/beacon.htmen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beacon_Hill,_Leicestershire The full address for the lower car park: Breakback Lane Woodhouse Eaves Loughborough Leics LE12 8TA The charge for car parking is £2.50, payable at the ticket machine on entry. Having the correct change will save you no end of hassle. Toilet facilities for humans are adjacent to the lower car park, poo bins for hounds spaced at reasonable intervals along the route. We usually walk the route shown in the following link, arriving at the summit (adjacent to the upper car park) at approx.14:40h and pausing for a 15 minute break to take in the view/give the dogs a drink/take photos etc. Often people who’re either unable or don’t want to do the full walk like to meet us at this point. Ideal for those with babies, elderly relatives or wheelchair-using friends who’d like to join in for a shorter period. www.leics.gov.uk/beacon_hill_map-2.jpgEveryone welcome, as always, and it would be great to see you Alison xx

We hope to be there, but all depends on the weather.

We will have to give this one a miss Sam pulled a muscle running yesterday and he is still limping today. Hope the weathers better than the Rutland walk. x

Couldn"t make this as my son and girl friend cooked a big sunday roast for us all for Mothers Day. Also Suggs is limping after colliding with Flynn on Saturdays walk. He's such a buffoon, Tia and Flynn play chase they have their own rules and know where they are going, Suggs just goes piling in without a clue what is going on bless him and causes mayhem . ;D ;D

To say it was a tad 'brisk' at the top of the Beacon would be an understatement. Lulu and I made a brief appearance from the top car park where some of the hounds made friends with a golden retriever cross who really wanted to be a greyhound. The mini snow drifts were an added 'bonus'. Hopefully April will be more convivial to stop and smell the roses ;D
