If this rain continues this months walk will either have to be cancelled or a change of venue as watermead is flooded both ends at the moment.

Hello Everyone, I'm a brand new member and I joined after contacting the East Midlands Rescue Society and Dave recommended I get in touch with yourselves. So apologies if I'm on the wrong page or in the wrong place. I rescued my Lurcher "Frank" over a year ago now and we've been to classes (still learning) and he's just about getting the hang of normal life; but he's not had much play with other greyhounds and lurchers; and I wondered if you thought it would be okay for us to come along on one of your walks. He's big and excitable and clumsy and just desperate to play.... Would you collectively have a think and let me know? If you want to check us out, then Sarah at WitsEnd knows Frank very well or Teresa at Borrajo's in Birstall. Anyhow, I look forward to your reply. Jane

Been around watermead today from Mill Lane towards Birstal round to the bridge and around King Lear lake. All walkable, can see what the concern was. Mick & Pearl.

I am a confused greyhound-owner ! Surely Mick, if the walk is due to take place on the SECOND Sunday of the month, that MUST make it SUNDAY 13 MAY AT BIRSTALL LAKES ? We shall wear wellies, and Zebedee will wear plastic-bags. We are determined to come whatever the weather is throwing at us, as we have missed the last two walks and we are getting withdrawal symptons. By a process of working things out I think Bellamick2 is in fact the blokey and, Pearl his hound, we met at Western Park a few weeks ago. Have I got the right Mick ? Looking forward to meeting up 'somewhere' with all those pointy noses, and skinny bodies. Bet that can't be said about the owners ! Best wishes to all, Penny O'C, Mike and Zebedee
