Simon (who adopted Gemma) forwarded the following e-mail to me yesterday: “Are any of your members dog owners and may fancy an event with a difference? There is a new event at Beacon Hill Country Park on the 6th November. This is a 5km XC course run with dogs. I have attached a pdf poster of the event. Please do mention this event to any members that you think might interested. There is also an open class, 5XC, for anyone that would like to run it but doesn’t have a dog. The events attract a wide range of entrants, from those serious canicrossers whose dogs are trained to tow them, and these dogs are any breed not just huskies and malamutes, to those that run/jog with their dog alongside. It is great fun for both runner and dog. For entry and details on the event visit: cani-cross.co.uk/cc_calendar.shtml If you or your members have any questions about the event or running with their dogs then please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Adrian” No way in a million years I’d ever be fit enough to do this but I might pop along and have a look!

I know Kate & Skye did cani-x, looks like fun when you see it at crufts too but def a spectator sport for me! Can you imagine, not even taking into account my lev of fitness, I'd end up towing dizzy while Harry careered from side to side and probably through the nearest hedge lol!

Jen, you are a zillion times fitter than me so there's no excuse! I would pay good money to see ANYONE do double handed cani-cross with Dizz and Harry

You need the proper harness to be allowed to take part.
