The next White Lodge Walk will take place this forthcoming Sunday, 13th March, at Beacon Hill. We’ll meet in the lower car park and set off from there at 2pm. Click on the links below for further details and directions: www.leics.gov.uk/index/environment/countryside/countryparks/beacon.htmen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beacon_Hill,_Leicestershire The full address for the lower car park: Breakback Lane Woodhouse Eaves Loughborough Leics LE12 8TA Whilst there is no café, Mr Whippy is generally in attendance from early March – late September and does a fantastic economy “hound cone” especially for WL dogs The charge for car parking is £1.50, payable at the ticket machine on entry. Having the correct change will save you no end of hassle. Toilet facilities for humans are adjacent to the lower car park, poo bins for hounds spaced at reasonable intervals en route. We usually take the route shown in the following link, arriving at the summit (adjacent to the upper car park) at approx. 14:40h and pausing for a 15 minute break to take in the view/give the dogs a drink/take photos etc. Often people who’re either unable or don’t want to do the full walk like to meet us at this point. Ideal for those with babies, elderly relatives or wheelchair-using friends who’d like to join in for a shorter period. www.leics.gov.uk/beacon_hill_map-2.jpgEveryone welcome, as always, and it would be great to see you

We can't make this walk unfortunately. We have Theo for the day as our daughter is godmother at a Christening in Nottingham, and Theo has a football match and his coach says they really need him. Soooo on Sunday we'll be standing in the mud and cold on the touch line cheering on our Grandson. Before bringing him home for a hot bath and a meal.We won't make the next one either 'cos we're taking the dogs on holiday for the week on that day. It's been ages since we made a walk so will be looking forward to catching up with everyone in May. ;D

What a great walk it was today, fantastic weather and lots of happy hounds in attendance Ollie made it all the way round this time Also I now know that Roger ( and 2 or 3 other hungry hounds ) seems almost obsessive about ice cream

Roger definitely had an impressive knack for ice-cream eating, pretty much evenly matched by Sol! Blue just wasn't quite sure about it - much more tentative. Yesterday, he walked straight by an abandoned magnum on the floor in the park twice! What's wrong with the boy?!
