Please can someone help. Joe needs to come back into kennels for rehoming through no fault of his own. Can anyone Foster a grey over Christmas. I know it's not the ideal time to take a dog in, but Joe needs to leave his home as soon as poss. All my kennels are taken until after Christmas and New Year. I do not want Joe to end up in another rescue centre, but I just do not have any spare kennels, we also have Earl waiting to come back in for rehoming. Please call White Lodge 01664 812361 for details and ask for Gill. Thanks

Just a little update on the call for help on fostering of Joe. I spoke to Gill on Saturday night to see if I could help out with Joe over the Christmas period but as Joe's situation has changed slightly Gill asked if Bob goo.gl/jPorZ could be considered in order to make room for Earl. That is the short version of the tale – no pun intended. Having popped over with Tommy (Grey) and Chilli (Lurcher x) to meet Bob at White Lodge and let them socialise on Sunday morning. All went well and much wagging of tales and wagging of tongues….the latter being us humans naturally. So given I had no immediate plans I took Bob home for the day. So pleased to be able to report he was fantastic, very well behaved and completely relaxed. We had a lovely walk around John Merricks lake at Watermead, followed by some biscuits and a nice afternoon sleep. We are really looking forward to having an extra set of paws with us this Christmas and an additional stocking with yummy treats shall be requested from Father Christmas post-haste. Watch out for the updates as we hope he will get his forever home in 2011 if not before! Happy Christmas to everyone and keep up the great posts ;D. We include a few pics below.... Bob is the one grabbing some free hugs from me!

Well done on giving Bob a foster home over the festive period! I'm sure he'll love being in a home environment. Hope he finds a permanent home soon.

Aww thats brilliant news for Bob! I love him I'm banned from fostering - the one and only time I did (over christmas incidently!) I ended up keeping the big blue lumux lol!! I daren't trust myself again, so hats off to anyone who successfully fosters dogs and are able to let go of them at the end - it takes a special person ;D

We thought it would be a good time to update everyone on Bob's adventures in his foster home with us over Christmas and New Year. Just a reminder that Bob is looking for his forever home and we hope his time with us can help him find the right owner as he is such a great character. Bob really settled in well with our two other dogs and we have not had to worry about them all being in the room together as they settled down in the evenings. (Bob is flat out in the middle of the room with red collar on) He travels happily anywhere and after having a nose out of the window en-route he is usually horizontal at the other end. Bob really is a gentle boy on his lead and sometimes did need a little encouragement on the daily walks around John Merricks lake at Watermead occasionally. He was nonplussed by other dogs or people and took it all in his stride. This included having family over on Christmas Day and family visiting in the New Year including two lively boys (aged 7 & 11). Bob coped admirably on Christmas day with family coming for lunch and tea. Bob was more about the fuss and the flowing food and no signs of getting stressed, just what he could get away with ....big eyes, fluffy coat and a heavy head on your lap. There is nothing more Bob likes than a big hug or snuggles and he responded more and more each day to basic commands. We have also seen since the first day how quickly he will settle in his bed once fed/watered/done his business. He loves playing ball and is very sociable. We have been impressed with the sheer speed he can scoff his dinner, the way he is quick to pick things up - he can now get up and down the stairs in that unique Greyhound wobbly way of all bum and legs. He has been lovely to have around. There is so much we can praise Bob for in the short time we have had him and his potential if someone can give him his forever home. It is far from easy to have to return Bob to Whitelodge and if our circumstances were different we would happily keep him. So we hope if you know someone who could offer Bob his forever home you can show them this post and share these pictures. Happy New year to everyone from all of us. If anyone is interested in Bob, we are happy to answer any queries about the time he spent with us. We hope you enjoy the pictures below from Bob's Christmas and New Year holiday.
